Temporary exhibition about cyclocross 🚴‍♂️🌿

Until February 2025, the Maison du Cyclisme is celebrating cyclo-cross with an exceptional exhibition. This spectacular discipline, popular in winter, involves technical skills and intense effort over a variety of terrain (meadows, woods, sand).

Visitors will be able to admire a unique collection including:

  • Specific bikes used by the greatest champions;
  • Jerseys and overalls belonging to the stars of the sport, including Sven and Thibau Nys, Pidcock, Orts, Worst, Teocchi, Lechner, and of course Francis Mourey;
  • Trophies, photos and documents tracing the history of cyclo-cross;
  • The equipment of Jérôme Gilbert, 2023 Provincial Champion and 2024 Walloon Champion.

The exhibition is designed to attract cyclo-cross fans and encourage them to return regularly to discover new exhibits and displays.

📸 A look back at the cyclo-cross conference 🚴‍♂️

A big thank you to the 40 participants who filled our hall for an evening rich in exchanges and passion around cyclo-cross! 🙌

✨ What can we take away from this evening?
🔹 The representatives of the Challenge Henri Bensberg highlighted the importance of this accessible and formative circuit for young people. With its virtually free rounds in Wallonia, it encourages discovery and progression in a friendly atmosphere. The comparison with Flemish infrastructures and the role of the FCWB were also discussed.

🔹 Francis Mourey, 9x French cyclo-cross champion, captivated the audience by sharing his exceptional list of achievements and his experience, particularly as a team member in road cycling. With humility and passion, he insisted on two strong messages:
👉 The importance of working on technique from an early age.
👉 But above all, the pleasure of practising! In his opinion, cyclo-cross should remain a source of fun for young riders, without excessive pressure, to avoid injuries and demotivation.

Thanks again to all our speakers: the members of the Challenge Henri Bensberg, the FCWB, and of course Francis Mourey for their invaluable contribution.

Stay tuned for our next events at the Maison du cyclisme Liège-Bastogne-Liège House of Cycling! 🚵‍♀️
